Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Shinica Thomas hosted the 2023 State of the County Address on Monday, Nov. 13. The event was held at the PNC Arena to update the community on Wake's work and celebrate a year of successes with partners. The theme of the State of the County Address was “Better Together.”

After delivering remarks, Chair Thomas led a conversation on partnership with local leaders:

The public event invited community members to mingle with each other, as well as NC State's Mr. and Ms. Wuf, and Carolina Hurricanes mascot Stormy, before the program. Guests were also treated to a surprise performance from the Shaw University drumline.
